ABOUT

Maisie is an eccentric and colorful woman in her late 30's. Born and raised in the US, she moved to Japan in 2019 on impulse after receiving a hefty unexpected inheritance. She loves creating, fashion, and virtual pets.

Maisie is a full time artist and primarily makes a living through her own business. She's done art casually her entire life, but started pursuing it seriously at 30 after a decade of dicey employment and constant exhaustion due to disability. She sells a variety of items, but her primary ones are handmade jewelry, ceramics, and stickers. Occasionally she takes on client work for larger pieces, which is how she was able to move to Japan!

• She's fairly laid-back and likes to do things at her own pace, in her own way, and isn't afraid to draw firm boundaries with others to preserve that.
• Deeply stubborn, she often chooses to learn the hard way, which has come back to burn her multiple times.
• She's extremely friendly and vibrant, and adores spending time with others. Unfortunately, she has difficulty making new friends, especially once she moves.
• Generally very patient, forgiving, and loyal. Once she's had enough, though, you are forever on her shitlist. She's an expert at holding grudges.
• Extremely passionate about what she does and what she likes. She's spent many years practicing art and learning as much as possible about her interests and she's proud of it.

FUN FACTS

• She's been collecting vpets for nearly 2 decades, which may or may not have influenced her decision to move to Japan specifically. Her collection is large and she can recite facts about every model, including when and where she got it.
• Her apartment and studio reflect her clothing choices - bright, unique, and clashing.
• She's still not over the novelty of being able to walk most places. She tries to take daily walks, even if it's down to the store for a snack run.
• She changes her hair color every few months. She's had every color of the rainbow, but particularly likes blue, pink, and orange. She always keeps a few random chunks blonde no matter the color, which is as much as a hassle as it sounds.
• She wears over-the-ear soundproof headphones often when out and about, both to listen to music as she pleases and to dampen the ambient noise.
• She wears rose-tinted glasses almost always when indoors, unless she needs to be able to see the exact color of something, or it ifs too dim.
• She has a huge sweet tooth. Her favorite sweets are gummies, cakes, and fruit.
• She's already fluent in Japanese by the time she moves. She started learning in her mid-late 20s. Her biggest issue is accidentally being too formal on occasion.

Maisie is my Yakuza/Like A Dragon OC. Her main setting is around 2023, when she's engaged. She is not y8 compliant yet!
