ABOUT

Maisie is an eccentric and colorful woman in her late 30's. Born and raised in the southern USA, she moved to Japan in 2019 impulsively after receiving a hefty unexpected inheritance. She loves creating, fashion, and virtual pets.

Maisie is a full time artist and makes a lving through her own business and commission work. She's done art casually her entire life, but started pursuing it as a career at 30 after a decade of dicey employment due to disability. She sells a variety of items, but her primary ones are original canvas paintings, ceramics, and art prints. She spent her first couple of years in Japan almost exclusively doing contract work for the company that sponsored her visa.

• She's fairly laid-back and likes to do things at her own pace, in her own way, and isn't afraid to draw firm boundaries with others to preserve that.
• Deeply stubborn, she often chooses to learn the hard way, which has come back to burn her multiple times.
• She's enthusiastic, friendly, and adores spending time with others. Unfortunately, she also has difficulty making new friends and it takes her a long time to feel close to someone.
• Generally very patient, forgiving, and loyal. Once she's had enough, though, you are forever on her shitlist. She's an expert at holding grudges.
• Extremely passionate about what she does and what she likes. She's spent many years practicing art and learning as much as possible about her interests and she's proud of it.

FUN FACTS

• She's been collecting vpets for nearly 2 decades, which may or may not have influenced her decision to move to Japan specifically. Her collection is large and she can recite facts about every model, including when and where she got it.
• Her apartment and studio reflect her personal style - bright, unique, and clashing. She's a fan of the modern artsy aesthetic.
• She's still not over the novelty of being able to walk most places. If she can reasonably walk somewhere, she'll try to.
• She changes her hair color every few months. She's had every color of the rainbow, but particularly likes teal, pink, and orange. She always keeps a few random chunks blonde no matter the color, which is as much as a hassle as it sounds.
• She wears over-the-ear soundproof headphones often, both to listen to music as she pleases and to dampen the ambient noise.


• She's prone to eye strain and visual overstimulation, so she frequently wears rose-tinted glasses. Her favorite pair are heart shaped.
• She's a big fan of Vocaloid and has entered the lottery/gotten a ticket for every concert since moving.
• Her favorite flavor is sweet. Her favorite sweets are gummies, cakes, and fruit.
• She's already mostly fluent in Japanese by the time she moves. She started taking learning it seriously in her mid-late 20s.
